The 2018 Survey of College and University Chief Academic Officers (CAOs), conducted by Gallup and answered by 516 provosts or CAOs, has just been released with some insightful takeaways.
Highlights of the survey include:
- Most provosts believe the academic health of their institution remains strong
- CAOs are strong supporters of the liberal arts but pessimistic about their future
- More provosts than in the past see value in competency-based education
- CAOs continue to be more positive than negative about assessment efforts their college has undertaken
