Mid-East Career and Technology Centers Selects Portfolium for CTE Program

Mid-East Career and Technology Centers (Mid-East CTC) has partnered with Portfolium’s Student Success platform to fully modernize their high school student portfolios in an effort to promote innovative Career-Technical Education (CTE) practices.

Portfolium’s ePortfolio network will provide Mid-East CTC students with the ability to link curricular and co-curricular artifacts with competencies desired by the professional workforce, as defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). Previously using Career Passports to maintain physical portfolios for students, Portfolium’s ePortfolios will benefit Mid-East’s students with its ease-of-use, portability and lifelong access.

Following the ePortfolio rollout, Mid-East will also soon implement Portfolium’s digital badging and learning pathways technology, a badging platform that provides students with the ability to earn micro-credentials and digital badges and automatically have them displayed in their ePortfolios. Digital badges will be issued in connection with the achievement of certain milestones along learning pathways, making it easy to construct intentional earning paths representing varying degrees of depth, breadth, and rigor.

"We believe that Portfolium offers us the best opportunity to transfer our Career Passport into a 21st century student portfolio,” said Jason Feldner, Assistant Director at Mid-East, “The fact that students can use Portfolium when they leave us was critical to our decision.”

"At Portfolium, we are constantly working to evolve alongside the rapid pace of technology in the educational sector. With Mid-East CTC, we are excited to find a partner that holds a mutual appreciation for innovation in educational practices," said Troy Markowitz, Vice President of Academic Partnerships.
