3 of the Best Places to Work in Raleigh, North Carolina

The lure of living in a well-known city like New York or Los Angeles certainly sounds appealing, but it’s always good to explore other options as well. That’s why we’re taking a peek at some of the best places to work in 10, maybe overlooked, cities around the U.S. We started in Denver and have since looked at Seattle, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Orlando, Salt Lake City, and Boston. This week the journey continues to a place where traditional and modern mix—Raleigh, North Carolina!

Making Your Move to the “City of Oaks”

North Carolina’s capital city is widely-known for its attractive tree lined streets and green spaces in the downtown area. Raleighites also have a deep appreciation for sweet tea and Cheerwine (a beloved cherry soda, not wine). Another perk of being located in the center of North Carolina is being close enough to visit beautiful mountains (Sugar Mountain is less than four hours away) and pristine shorelines (Just two hours has you to Wilmington’s beaches). The 33-mile long Neuse river trail and 66-acre Pullen Park also provide outdoor options to support an active lifestyle.

Top Places to Work in Raleigh

Raleigh is also known as “The Triangle.” That’s because Raleigh along with, Durham, and Chapel Hill are known for their research/technology roots; not to mention their collegiate rivalries: North Carolina State University, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina, respectively. As such, there is strong job growth in this tri-city region. With a high number of research, education, healthcare, and information technology opportunities available, the annual average income—over $50,000, is higher than the national average.
